Six years in the making
We are James and Annemarie, the founders of Tallow & Cacao, a family skincare business based in Norfolk. For six years before bringing our cream to market, we made it for ourselves, family and friends. Their feedback and requests for more encouraged us to share it more widely.
Today, our 50 ml Nourishing Skin Cream is made in small batches using only certified organic ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, castor oil, cocoa butter, vanilla CO₂ extract and frankincense essential oil. It is a rich, waterless formula made to soften and moisturise dry-feeling skin.
From our family to yours.
Tallow & Cacao didn’t start as a business.
For years, we had been making our own natural skincare at home for ourselves and our family. We had become increasingly frustrated with conventional skincare products filled with long ingredient lists, synthetic ingredients, artificial fragrances and things we simply didn’t feel were necessary.
We wanted something different.
Something simple, natural and genuinely nourishing that we felt good about putting on our own skin and our family’s skin.
So we started making our own.
We went back to traditional, time-tested ingredients and began developing a rich, nourishing cream using grass-fed tallow, cocoa butter, castor oil, frankincense and vanilla.
At first, it was only for us.
Then our family started using it.
Then friends tried it.
Before long, people were asking us for their own jars — and coming back asking for more.
The feedback we received made us realise that what we had been making for our own family was something other people were looking for too.
That was the beginning of Tallow & Cacao.
Why we keep it simple
The more we looked at modern skincare, the more we questioned why it had become so complicated.
We believe great skincare doesn’t need an endless list of ingredients.
Instead, we focus on carefully selected ingredients, a simple formula and creating a product we are proud to use ourselves.

Today, Tallow & Cacao is proudly made in Norfolk in small batches, with the same care and attention that went into the jars we first made for our own family and friends.
Although the name has grown, the idea behind it hasn’t changed.
Make something simple. Make it properly. And never make something we wouldn’t be happy using on our own family.
What started in our home, shared between family and friends, is now something we’re incredibly proud to share with you.
